Royal Parks Half - How to Sign Up

Thank you for considering to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon, for our Little Jimmy Brighter Future Fund in aid of Great Ormond Street to buy life-saving equipment in memory of James Shaw.

IMPORTANT!

 

Please follow the FOUR STEPS below in order to secure your Royal Parks place with both Great Ormond Street AND The Royal Parks Foundation, as well as setting up your JustGiving page and ensuring it is connected to the Little Jimmy Fund. The guideline fundraising target is £350.

Step 1: Register your place with GOSH

 

Go to the GOSH website and register for a place on the GOSH Royal Parks Half Marathon team. This will secure one of the limited places with GOSH, and will initiate (but not complete!) the Royal Parks official registration.

  1. Go to the GOSH website and follow the steps to register: http://www.gosh.org/get-involved/fundraising-events/run/half-marathon/royal-parks-half-marathon

  2. Enter discount code ‘TEAMSHAW’ to half the entry fee from £35 to £17.50

  3. Fill in your details and under ‘Why do you want to run for GOSH?’, select 'In Memory' and then please type the text ‘Little Jimmy Brighter Future Fund’

IMPORTANT! A few weeks after you register for a GOSH place, you will automatically receive an official Royal Parks Half Marathon confirmation email, you need to click on the link in this email and fill out a second form on the Royal Parks website, your place is not secured until you have done this (see Step 2).

Step 2: Secure your place with Royal Parks Foundation

 

A few weeks after you register your place with GOSH (Step 1), you will receive an official Royal Parks Marathon confirmation email.

 

Click on the link in the Royal Parks Foundation email, and fill in a second form on the Royal Parks website.

 

IMPORTANT! Your place is not secured until you have done this!

Step 3: Inform Us!

 

Please ensure that you inform us that you are registering for the Royal Parks Half Marathon, this is important in order to ensure that your place is connected with the Little Jimmy Brighter Future Fund.

Please email us at littlejimmybrighterfuturefund@gmail.com with your name and phone number and we will add you to our mailing list and WhatsApp group for important information.

Step 4: Set up your JustGiving page for Little Jimmy

 

Once you have emailed us, and have a confirmed place in an event, we will help you setup a JustGiving page and link the page to the Little Jimmy Fund.

 

To set up your own JustGiving fundraising page for The Little Jimmy Brighter Future Fund:

  1. Register/logon to JustGiving

  2. Go to the James Shaw homepage at https://www.justgiving.com/remember/407805/James-Shaw

  3. Click on the purple box "Make a page for James" under the grand total

  4. Search for and select "Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity" when choosing a charity

  5. Select "Taking part in an event"

  6. Search for and select "Royal Parks Half Marathon"

  7. Answer the subsequent questions

  8. After you write your page introduction, you may find it easiest to cut and paste the text from 'our story' on this website
